Apple is the most puzzling Company in the world. Everything related to Apple need to be researched in to find out about the release of a new product. The same goes with the Media Invites that Apple sends to the chosen Media Personal for the unveiling of upcoming products. Whenever an invitation for the Media Event is received by a Media personal, they first try to decode the message set behind the release. Before we get any official confirmation or any Media Event debuts, we are always taken through a traditional procedure called “Rumors”. Every time, the release of an iPhone or iPod is near, we always see heavy amount of rumors surfacing the Internet.
The media invites sent by Apple sometimes reveal very little information regarding the upcoming product. Apple did the same with the upcoming iPhone 5’s Media Invite that it issues the day before. Apple made a mystic 5 icon in the invite that is being investigated/guessed on what will be announced. Either iPhone 5 or some other five new products.

Until the mystic sign is decoded, lets have a look on all the previous Media Invites that Apple sent out for iPhone and iPod launch starting from 2007.
Above is the initial call for the iPhone 2G that Apple sent out with a cryptic message, “Save the Date” with the background that clearly point outs towards the “Time Machine” Backup Feature.
In September, Apple announced the iPod Classic, iPod Nano, and iPod Touch. Therefore, Apple placed the Media Invite with a classical music background with a person holding iPod Classic.
In 2008, Apple announced iPhone 3G and App Store. These were the two biggest announcements that were encrypted in the above Media Invite by stating, “A Landmark Event. In more ways than one”.
Another event held in 2008 by Apple was purely dedicated to Music and iPod. At this event, Apple announced iPod Nano, second-generation iPod Touch, updated iPod classic, and released iOS 2.1 software. This perfectly fits with the name of “Lets Rock”.
Apple held another untimely-event in September 2009 on which they introduced OS 3.0 with the first look of OS SDK and a developers release the same day. The background in blue hinted towards the iPhone SDK release.
In the same year of 2009, Apple sent out another invite to the developers by hinting them to “make Your Mark Here” on the iPhone. The iPhone was the new line up f iPhone 3GS.
Then again, in Fall 2009, Apple held the most boring Media Event by introducing Music only updates. Apple introduced iPod Nano with a Camera and iOS 3.1 was released.
Soon after compiling the 2009 events, Apple came up with another WWDC in 2010. This time Apple introduced Apps, iOS 4 with over 200 features, and iPhone 4 that was previously leaked. Somehow, Steve Jobs made the event very joyful.
Following the tradition, Apple announced another Media Event in 2010 dedicated to Music. Apple introduced the first iPod Touch Nano, the iPod Touch got an update to 3rd Generation, and ping announcement was a surprise.
In the summer of 2011, Apple again invited the developers to come get a glance on the future of iOS and OS X. This was the first Media Event that was dedicated to Software’s only. No new release was made on this event. In fact, this was the last event of Steve Jobs.
Following the preceding event of WWDC 11, Apple sent another Media invite for September 4 on which they announced the iPhone 4S. This time Apple had changed the tradition. This event was purely dedicated for the unveiling of iPhone 4S with iOS 5 software releases.
At the start of 2012, Apple announced The New iPad. After the announcement of The New iPad, the tech giant planned for traditional WWDC 12. On this years WWDC 12, Apple rolled out iOS 6 and the future of OS X called Mountain Lion.
Finally, the turn is for the new iPhone lineup. Apple has teased the Media Invite for September 12 by showing a big 5 as shown in the above picture. This mystic 5 hints towards the iPhone 5launch or there must be something new coming along the iPhone 5.
